Adventures in Paper Mache – Natural Beauty Day Two

Mask 004Day Two has dawned and I must say, I’m super proud of the progress I made yesterday. Mask is almost complete. And let me say here and now, Mod Podge antique finish is AWESOME…just be prepared to get high as a kite if you forget to open a window or turn on a fan. I was rather loopy for at least 3 hours. Not complaining though 😉

Mask 005The canvas and branches all got their first coat of paper mache. Let me tell you, this project took up the entire kitchen yesterday! It was super humid out so by the time came to put it all away and start dinner, the branches were still wet and the canvas had that wet line through the center. Luckily everything dried out overnight so I can begin again today.

A little tip: Thin branches are hard as hell to wrap in wet, goopy paper. Still have at least 2-3 coats to go for added strength. Damn hard, but what fun!

Love, Lola
