Sprites are cool! No, not the soda. Today I take a look at something more than what comes in a can. Let’s ride the lightning, shall we?

Sprites are similar to lightning, but they appear as luminous reddish-orange flashes high up in the atmosphere. Unlike the typical lightning you see during a thunderstorm, a sprite is actually a cold plasma phenomenon more akin to a fluorescent tube discharge than to lightning.
