Pluto’s puzzling spots come into focus

At about three billion miles from Earth and half a million miles from Pluto, New Horizons has almost reached her destination, and I couldn’t be more excited. I know. I’m a geeky space cadet. 😉

In my newest article for STEAM Register, we take a look at the spacecraft’s latest image – its last look at Pluto’s Charon-facing hemisphere. The image, taken on on July 11, reveals intriguing geologic details that are of keen interest to mission scientists.
