Scarface – This ‘dog’ could hunt, but he may have also been venomous

081915-scarface 1The mammalian forerunner ‘Scarface’ was only the size of a dachshund, but he may have also been quite a dangerous predator.

Scientists recently identified a new species of pre-mammal found in what is now Zambia. Because of a unique groove on the animal’s upper jaw, it was dubbed Ichibengops (Itchy-BEN-gops). “Ichibenga” is the local Bemba word for scar, and the common Greek suffix for face is “ops.” Put simply: Scarface.

But his name isn’t the only interesting thing about this creature – Scarface – This ‘dog’ could hunt, but he may have also been venomous.
