Curiosity visits the sand dunes of Mars

Like any tourist — robotic or otherwise — NASA’s Mars Curiosity rover recently stopped to snap some scenic photos on the Red Planet. Of course it had to do some science too, since this was the first visit ever to sand dunes NOT located on Earth. Thankfully, the sand is soft, which means the rover’s wheels probably won’t get too much wear and tear. Read more about this series of images here.
