First article out of the gate today was quite wild. You see, there are these meteorites called Gibeon that were first discovered in the sub-Saharan part of Africa now known as Namibia in 1838. And now Cabot Guns is going to construct an extraterrestrial pistol set out of one aged at 4.5 billion years old.
These meteors — considered the Cadillac of meteors — are highly-prized among meteor hunters in large part due to the aesthetic Widmanstattten pattern exhibited by the meteorite’s grain pattern once acid etched.
Tiny portions of the valuable Gibeon meteor have been used before by jewelers such as Rolex.
Once built, the twin mirror image pistols — tentatively named “The Big Bang Pistol Set” — will make their public debut during the NRA Annual Meeting and Convention in Louisville, KY, in May. And they will eventually be sold at auction for as high as $1 million dollars.
