Is eating healthier on your list of New Year’s resolutions? If so, boy do I have the perfect tip for you.

New research suggests that simply putting a mirror in your dining room (or wherever you eat) can make unhealthy foods taste less delicious.

Basically, when you literally watch what you eat, that chocolate cake won’t taste as good.

According to the researchers who conducted the study, “Mirrors can push people to compare and match their behaviors with social standards of correctness. When you fail to follow the standards, you may not want to see yourself in the mirror because it enhances the discomfort of the failure. Thus, the presence of a mirror induces discomfort and lowers the perceived taste of the unhealthy food.”

    1. That’s a great idea. I can’t remember what the name is, but there’s a new app that allows you to take photos of your food and it counts up everything and keeps a log for you. I wish I could remember the name of it. Sorry. Thanks for reading!

      1. I’m doing it the old fashioned way in a paper diary! I’ll also capture things like my mood, stress levels, time of month etcetc. So hopefully I can look back over it and insightful patterns will reveal themselves!
