Nabeeho – In Progress

I guess I haven’t posted an art update in a long time. Well, rest assured my hands are covered in art juice for at least a few minutes a day. I’ve had this thing for styrofoam and plastic mannequin heads for a while now. Already finished 4 or 5 and sent them out into the wild. And then, around my birthday earlier this year, everyone thought it would be awesome to buy me some REALLY long-necked ones — 3 in total. This is my second “alien” so far.

No you can’t buy it…she’s already spoken for 😉

This is “Nabeeho” (or Navajo) in various stages of progress. She’s a long way from being finished. A real labor of love. Continue reading

Of Dreams and Acorns

A little acorn just dropped some knowledge on me. Hey, when life gives you acorns, you make inspirational poetry (and silly videos). (less than 60 seconds to watch, listen and enjoy)

Moral of the story is to dream your dreams and be who you were meant to be.

Hope In The Distance, The Devil Behind

Copyright Lola Gayle Christopher | 2016

Expectations of hope
Desires all unchanged
Longing for peace now
Its control is so strange

Is what I see coming
A change in us all?
Divided we stand
Or united we fall?

I feel it stalking me
There from afar
Treading so lightly
A face so bizarre

Is what I see coming
A change in us all?
Resistance is futile
We’re all in its thrall

The anger of voices
So loud in my ear
Is nothing sacred?
Nothing too dear?

Is what I see coming
A change in us all?
Hope felt on Monday
Tomorrow the fall

Or have we all changed now
Just yesterday’s dream
Is hope a reminder
Or a slow silent scream

Is what I see coming
A change in us all
Belief is so blind now
Something muted its call

I have no beliefs now
In capacity of man
To have tender moments
Is this all that I am?

Is what I see coming
A change in us all?
Divided we stand
Or united we fall?
